Building Relationships, Educating an Industry
Growing a business from a local endeavor to a national company is no small task. But to grow a business from a local venture to an international operation is another thing entirely. In fact, that kind of growth falls into a class of its own.

Shelby Township, Mich.-based Complete Medical Services (CMS)is such a company. Established in 1996 as a provider of diagnostic equipment to primary-care physicians in Southeast Michigan, CMS has grown exponentially in the years that have followed. After all, the company that started off selling smaller products, such as holters, EKG machines and spirometry devices, is a far cry from the booming vendor of 2010. Today, CMS is regarded worldwide as a leading provider of high-end diagnostic equipment, such as ultrasound machines, bone densitometers, nuclear cameras, mammography devices and C-arms.

According to CMS President Tony Orlando, much of his company's success is attributable to its broad product inventory. We have developed an extensive service department with highly qualified technicians and a complete inventory of parts, he says. Over the years, we have been recognized as the leading provider of bone density equipment in the world and have been gaining more recognition for the complete line of diagnostic equipment we provide.

CMS is proud to report that our inaugural Cadaver RF Ablation Workshop was a complete success, with the help of our Co-Sponsor, Kimberly-Clark Corporation, and speaker, Dr. Anand C. Thakur, MD.

The workshop, led by Dr. Thakur at Wayne State University Medical School, consisted of lecture and discussion followed by several hours of lab time with a cadaver. The workshop highlighted techniques to perform RF Ablation procedure for pain management.

A number of different specialties were represented at the workshop including neurosurgery, neurology, interventional radiology, physical medicine as well as pain management.

Radio frequency ablation is now typically performed under fluoroscopic guidance using a radio frequency generator and special electrodes. The physician burns sensory nerve pathways emanating from the spine to alleviate pain for up to a year.

The procedure holds great promise for patients as a non-surgical alternative to back pain which can be performed in an office setting.

The next class will be held on May 22, 2010. If you are interested, please CONTACT US to RSVP.
